I wanna ask why Tome is better than Orb to you.

Ok simple really. Let's take the Elder Tome and Elder Jewel.

The Tome has 720MB and 380MA
The Jewel has 760MB and 340MA

So the tome has 40MA more but 40MB less.

Now you have 4 Manastone slots on both items. So you will want to even out the difference. If you take the Tome you need 40MB - which is easy if you use MB+25 stones. You put one on each manastone slot and you have 100MB more - so now the book has 820MB and 380MA.

If you take the Jewel you need to use MA+12 stones. So you put 4 in each slot and you get 760MB and 388MA.

So :

Tome - 820MB , 380MA
Orb - 760MB , 388MA

The tome wins.


I hope this helps understand it better. So the jewels are only good while leveling up - you have weak monsters and you don't really need MA so much, but you need lots of MB to kill them faster - so you take orbs. After you max out your levels and you are ready to Raid big bosses - you do need more MA in order to hit them. So the book is the way to go!

Yea but I can put +25 MB on the Jewel then I iwll have massive damage.

What good is damage if your attacks are resisted all the time?

If the boss resists every third attack you fire and you have 100MB more damage than me - then i will still do a lot more DPS cause i will never miss.

Not to mention that in PvP a resist of a spell can be the difference between life and death.

But this should be different in pvp.

No it's not really. Ok here on our server most people have 30lvl sets so the magic resistance is very low. But when you fight me (since i have a level 50set) you will see how bad it is when i resist your aether or other deadly spells you really need.

Hmm maybe you are right, I dont know anything about mages. But I am willing to try one.

So I need to know what gear would be good for it. Except Elder..

Ok - so we all hate the Devotion skill of the Glad.
The only effective way to beat it is to slow,root and sleep the shit out the glad!
However a smart glad will charge and lift you, breaking your ability to sleep him.

So first a good mage will use Boon of Iron clad - making him immune to aether, stun and so on for 5 sec and absorbing 8k damage. In these 5sec the mage will sleep the glad. After he is sleeping, your job will be to Magma - Flame spray him. Immediately after that give him a taste of your frost + root combination. If he dispells the root, he is still super slow. By the time he dispells it and starts moving at you - sleep him again. Then you give him a Delayed Blast and a Inferno - he will awaken and if you haven't beaten him by now, you are in trouble. So your best option is to use instants on him (freezing wind, Flame Cage) to finish him off.

I think finishing gladiator fast will be realy hard now

I want my sleep back as well. Thats just not fair! My sleep 4 secs sorcerer's sleep more. Both has same effect.

hello, I have a question, I want to know that's better to use an HP manastone or MR, I've been looking online and I have no clear answer could someone help me?

Better HP since MagicResistance only helps against magical attacks and not always.
HP will also protect you against melee enemies - making it the better choice.

Magic Resistance is only usefull at very high rates. If you make a Full MR build you will constantly resist spells, but i still sudgest HP.

Am in doubt, I recently acquired the Theobomos Plate Set and I don't know what manastones use in it. Normally I use Atack, Critical and MR but not sure what's best for my profession. Thanks in advance.
